Member of Parliament for Assin Central in the Ashanti Region, Kennedy Agyepong has started another round of attacks on pastors describes as fake men of God.

This time, the controversial Member of Parliament says, religion is impeding progress in Ghana and the earlier something is done about that the better.

“I am not against religion, but I am against fake, fake pastors with their promises. I don’t care what you say, once you are fake, you are not my friend and I will criticize.”

He was speaking on the hot seat show on Net 2 Television in Accra.

Prior to election 2020, Kenney Agyepong was always in the news for having problems with pastors and a few that come to mind include Prophet Nigel and Bishop Obinim.

According to him, these pastors tell members of their church not to put their trust in their money, and yet these pastors are busily using tricks to siphon all the money from their members.

He said these pastors are getting richer every day and becoming powerful while the church members continue to suffer in poverty, only to be told by these same pastors that money is not everything, so they should rather look up to God for all things.

“… many Christians have been brainwashed to believe that money is nothing. Read Ecclesiastes 10: 19, it says, Food is for laughter, and wine for merry making, but money answers it all. Money answers it all, so you don’t fold your arms. If money is nothing, why would you go give collection to the pastor? The pastor who is saying money is vanity, why is he busily collecting money from you. Look at their dressing and look at your dressing that you go to church with.”
