The Former Member of Parliament for Tamale Central, Inusah Fuseini has said that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) should start mobilization of its members from the top hierarchy to the grassroot. This in his view, will foster strong relationship among party folks and prepare the party adequately to wrestle power from the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He said, “We [NDC] should start the mobilization now at the grassroot, getting all the Constituency Executives, Regional Executives and national executives involved, putting into offices people who are capable, competent and can deliver so that they will start the mobilization and make sure that in 2024, NDC wins power.”
When asked whether or not it is politically wise to maintain the Former President and the 2020 Presidential Candidate of the NDC, John Dramani Mahama, to lead the party in 2024 general elections, He said, the decision only lies in his [John Mahama] hands.
The Economist Intelligent Unit (EIU) in its latest report on ‘2024 elections outlook’ says, as it expects the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to win the 2024 presidential election, it also expects the party to seek to revitalize its prospects with a fresh candidate.
However, reacting to the report on ‘DayBreak Upper East’ Programme on A1 Radio, Mr. Fuseini was of the conviction that, NDC will win with or without fresh candidate.
He said, “NDC won the election in 2020, and NDC will win 2024. And so it’s not about a candidate right now.”
