The 2020 Parliamentary Candidate (PC) for the People’s National Convention (PNC) in the Sissala East Constituency of the Upper West Region, Kingsley Kanton Kasim has resigned from the party.

In a letter addressed to the Sissala East constituency chairman of the PNC and sighted by A1 Radio, the letter states that the reason for his resignation from the party is personal.

Mr Kassim states that, his decision to resign from the PNC is based on months of “careful reflections and thoughtful consideration.”

Mr Kassim expressed his gratitude to members of the PNC especially national executives and grassroots supporters for the opportunity given him to represent the party at the 2016 and 2020 elections.

Mr Kingsley Kanton Kasim lost the 2020 parliamentary election to Amidu Chinnia Issahaku of the New Patriotic Party (PNC) after placing third.

There has been uneasy calm within the PNC following the general secretary of the party allegation that the 2020 party flagbearer connived with some party leaders to steal party funds.

It is however unclear if the development within the party is the reason for his resignation.
