Upper East Regional Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sansui Issah has asked beneficiary communities of the Multipurpose Dam at Pwalugu to bank their hopes on the government as it is bent on delivering its pledge of delivering the project.

According to the NPP communicator, the construction of the dam is not a fanfare event but a life-changing project that the New Patriotic Party government will use to bridge the poverty gap between the people of the North and South.

Mr Sansui said, “We should not listen to the naysayers and their noises; I want you all to note that the government is working hard to realize this project come to fruition. Yes, physical works have not been seen yet because a lot of paper works have been going on, now; based on what the technical men are saying that work will soon commence this year, let us bank our hopes on them.”

Buttressing his point on Daybreak Upper East on A1 Radio April 20,2021 Mr Issah noted that, though physical work of the dam was going steadily, the commitment of the government cannot be underestimated.

But the Youth Organizer of the National Democratic Congress in the Upper East Region, Abraham Lambon said the NPP government was just playing lip service to the beneficiary people but lacks the credibility and financial muscles to work on the project.

Mr Lambon added that, “This dam project, we all know how important it is to us in the Upper East Region, but the fact of the matter is this NPP government does not have us at heart and the dam is just another propaganda just like the one village one dam projects dotted across our region.”
