Sandema:  Police secures court warrant for arrest of 5 jail escapees

The Ghana Police Service in Sandema has secured a court warrant from the Navrongo District Magistrate Court for the immediate arrest of five suspects who escaped from a police cell in Sandema on April 10, 2021.

A circular released by the ASP David Fianko-Okyere, Upper East Regional Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Police Service, names the suspects as Cletus Aglojam age 27, a native of Kanjerga, dark, height 5.7, Moses Amoak, 20, a native of Suniasa – Sandema, dark and stands at 5 feet 8 inches and a farmer, Albert Webelera age 25, a native of Pungu – Navrongo, 5. 7 inches tall, a carpenter by profession.

The rest are, Kaseley Nab, 40 a native of Gbedembisi- Fumbisi, black in complexion and lanky, and Abianiakeme  Adocta, 21,  a native of  Bilinsa, dark in complexion, and a tricycle rider.

Their offence is escaping from lawful custody contrary to section 226 (c) of act 29/60.

The sixth person was rearrested barely 24 hours after the incidence and was sentenced to 24 months in hard labor in prison.

By this public notice, the Upper East Regional Police Command has called on the general public especially residents of Sandema, Fumbisi, and Chuchuliga and their environs to assist with information that may lead to the arrest of the suspects. Informants can report at any nearest police station or to any patrol teams, snap checkpoints or via police emergency/toll-free numbers 191, 18555,112.

All accused persons are believed to be hiding in the Builsa North and South Districts or any part of Ghana.
