8-member committee appointed to draft a 10-year strategic plan for Bolgatanga Technical University

The Bolgatanga Technical University has appointed an eight-member committee to design a strategic long-term growth plan for the university. 

The 8-member committee

The institution which focuses on becoming the leading technical institution in Northern Ghana seeks to map up its short and long-term strategies and directions using the plan. 

Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Erasmus Samuel Alnaa noted that the committee if effectively use will help the University tackled some of the challenges confronting it. 

The reason for the committee, the Vice-Chancellor noted came to fruition after the five-year strategic plan of the then Polytechnic expired in December 2020.

“So, as a university, there is the need for a new strategic plan to guide the strategic direction of the University. This committee, we expect that will come out with tangible and visionary plans that can collectively help transform this young university into a world-class one. There is no university in the world that was built in one day, so, we hope that this committee will help restructure the challenges of the school.”

Prof. Alnaa however stressed with the hope that per the caliber of members the committee has made up of, the University is convinced that they would come out with a strong plan for the school.

The committee drawn from various departments of the university is expected to submit a draft strategic plan to the Interim Vice-Chancellor a month after its inauguration.

The committee is made up of the Dean of School of Business and Management Studies, Professor Theophilus Azungah, Professor Daniel Oppong Sekyere, – Dean of SASA, Dr. Edward Naabil – Dean of School Engineering, Dr. John Bosco Azigwe – Ag. Director, Quality Assurance, Mr. Richard A. Atia-Deputy Registrar, Mr. Sebastian Ayaaba -ICT Director, Mr. Clement Onmeba-Assistant Registrar, and Tom Mboga Asigri – Ag. Director, Works, and Physical Planning. 

The Chairman of the committee, Professor Theophilus Azungah, however, assured lecturers and students bodies of their willingness to work within time to achieve the needed growth for the university.
