Member of the Communication Team of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Upper East Region, Isaac Ayemvoa has stated that, the 2021 Population and Housing Census (PHC) is a game-changer hence the need to depoliticize its challenges.

According to the NDC communicator, the development of every country hangs on how well they plan and no proper planning can be done without the government and stakeholders knowing the number of people in a particular geographical and their peculiar segmentation.

Mr. Ayemvoa, who was speaking on Day Break Upper East show on A1 Radio on Monday, June 14, 2021 said, he is not comfortable with people who like to align the national exercise to political lines and affiliations.

He observed that, though it is a national exercise, there seems to be little publicity about the exercise which could affect the outcome of the data that will be gathered since people who do not fully understand the exercise may not volunteer quality information to census officials.

Mr. Ayemvoa said, agitations by enumerators over unfair treatment and remuneration should be seriously looked at and resolved because the quality of data is key in this exercise and anything that will affect the data quality should be addressed.

He called, on residents of the Upper East Region to full corporate and give factual response to questions that will be asked by census officials so that quality data can be realized for proper planning and development of the country.
