Toende Rural Bank commission branch in Bolgatanga

Toende Rural Bank has commissioned another agency in Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region to offer innovative services to clients.

The bank which was operating from the Bukere community has been moved to the Central Market of Bolgatanga to offer banking services to business owners and traders.

General Manager of the bank, Atorka Salifu Gande indicated that the bank aims to alleviate poverty through the disbursement of loans for petty traders, farmers, women groups, and religious bodies.

“The purpose of Toende Rural Bank is to alleviate poverty. We moved to the villages, support the vulnerable, and bring them up to the stage so that they can also take care of their children. As we speak, from January to June, we have disbursed almost Ghc 5 million to women groups in the Bolgatanga Municipal, Bolgatanga East, Nabdam, and Talensi districts. This has gone a long way to giving facilities to not less than 1, 200 individual women.”

He further called on salary workers especially those with multiple loans on their payslips to visit the bank and get the loans paid off to a single deduction.  

The ARB Apex Bank, the mother bank of Community and Rural Banks in the country lauded the Toende Rural Bank for the great strives that saw the opening of another branch amidst the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Managing Director of the ARB Apex Bank, Kojo Mattah revealed that Toende Rural Bank Limited was rated satisfactory, ranking the 46th position out of 144 banks in the overall performance report of Rural and Community Banks in the year 2020.

Bolgatanga Branch Manager of the ARB Apex Bank, Mark Kwasi Willie who read a speech on behalf of the Managing Director advised the bank to adopt technology and improve services to stay in business in the evolving banking landscape.

The Board Chairman of the Bank, Dr. Ayembilla Joseph Anyagbilla, revealed that the construction of the ultramodern banking edifice cost Ghc 1.3 million and was funded by shareholders.

According to Dr. Ayembilla, the bank intends to bring its services to the doorstep of the public by opening other branches in Binaba and Sapeliga.
