President Nana Akufo-Addo pledges to build guinea fowl processing factory in Bawku Municipality

President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has promised the people of Kusaug Traditional area to build a Guinea Fowl processing factory in the Bawku Municipality.

In a two day working visit to the Upper East Region, the president paid a courtesy call on Zug-Raan of the Bawku traditional area, Naba Asigri Abugrago Azoka II where he promised to build a guinea fowl processing factory in the Bawku Municipality to help create jobs for the people.

He said “Under the one district, one factory, we are going to establish very soon a guinea fowl processing factory in Bawku here.”

Zug-Raan pleaded with the president, to consider his traditional area as a matter of urgency and provide them with district hospitals in Binduri, Pusiga, Bawku, Garu and Tempane.

He said “your Excellency, I wish to make a passionate appeal to you to consider my traditional area, as a matter of urgency in respect of providing district hospitals for districts without any. These are Binduri, Pusiga, Bawku Garu and Tempane.”

The president assured, Zug-Raan that the agenda 111 is on course and very soon, work will begin to construct district hospitals for the district without hospitals in the Ksaug Traditional area.

The further stated that the government is working to complete the Pwalugu Multi-Purpose Dam to enhance agriculture in line with the planting for food and jobs agenda.

He indicated that, the warehouses that are under construction are about 80% complete at Kpwalwega, Binduri, Pusiga, Zebilla and Bugri.

Among the president’s entourage, were minister of defense Dominic Nitiwul, minister for interior Ambrose Derry, former minister of Aviation, Joseph Kofi Adda, including other government appointees.

The One District One Factory (1D1F) initiative is the vision of the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to change the nature of Ghana’s economy from one which is dependent on import and export of raw material to one which is focused on manufacturing, value addition and export of processed goods. These raw materials are largely found in the districts which would have otherwise gone waste.
