The biggest annual entertainment awards show in Ghana, the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), is set to hit its viewers’ screens this weekend.
Producers of the event, Charter House, in collaboration with telecommunication network, Vodafone, and other partners are set to organize the awards under the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) the Tourism Art and Culture Ministry.
VGMA 22 is scheduled to be held this coming weekend, on Friday 25th and Saturday 26th of June. There would be a projection of the red carpet, loads of performances, and awards for the deserving artists as of usual essence.
The already released awards portfolio, includes, The new artiste of the year, Gospel song of the year, Highlife song of the year, Hip Hop song of the year, Reggae-dancehall artiste and song of the year, Unsung artiste of the year, and the big one, the Artiste of the year, as well as many other portfolios with their respective nominees.
The show would also see performances from various musicians in the country
Unlike other years, the awards shows would be a virtual one just as last year, involving only a number of in-house guests.
The entire awards show would also be shown on various television outlets and can be streamed on various social media networks.
