The Ghana Police Service in collaboration with other security agencies in the Upper East Region has seized dangerous weapons in possession of some individuals in the Kandiga community.
According to the police, the individuals numbering up to six were spotted at their hideouts assembling hand pump action guns and other dangerous weapons.
After arresting these individuals, the police said that it has since launched vigorous investigations and will soon bring other partners involved to book.
Upper East Regional Police Commander DCOP Dr Sayibu Gariba who spoke to the media added that his outfit together with some security agencies will not take the matter lightly hence the public should have confidence in them.
Dr Gariba also asked the public especially residents of the community to always report to the security any miscreant who would want to take the law into his/her hands to disturb the existing peace in their area.
Dr Gariba however called on opinion leaders and residents in the region to continue preaching for peace and tranquillity as the region once noted for.
