Member of Parliament for Wa West in the Upper West Region, Supt. Rtd. Peter Lanchene Toobu has noted that how the country is governed under the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration if care is not taken, history will point fingers at President Akufo-Addo as the worst leader Ghana has ever had since 1957.

The MP noted that since President Akufo-Addo was elected as President in 2016, he has failed to implement and execute bread and butter policies for the growth of Ghanaians.

The retired police officer who spoke on Daybreak Upper East show on A1 Radio added that it saddens him anytime he sees young people walking aimlessly without jobs despite the gargantuan promises made by the President in the 2016 and 2020 elections.

“…I sadden me always when I see youth walking aimlessly without reasonable jobs. The promises made by President Akufo-Addo on how he will change the fate of Ghanaian youth are yet to be realised and I doubt if they will ever come because he is left with three years to complete his tenure of office.”

“I always say this, Leadership is all about influence so if you are a leader and lacks integrity and influence then there will be a problem. In 2016, then-candidate Nana Akufo-Addo told Ghanaians that we were sitting on gold and diamond and that if we vote for him,he will make our lives better. So, we gave him the mandate to come and save us or better still make our lives better and for almost five years now yet nothing to show. So, if this is all that President Akifo-Addo can do then he will go down in history as the worst President ever since 1957. So I will say government under this government is hopeless”, he added.

Touching on whether the citizenry should give up hope under the leadership of Akufo-Addo’s administration, Supt. Toobu noted that so far as the country still has competent men and women, there is still hope for a better future

He, however, called on the youth to be up and doing to protect and promote the development of the country Ghana.
