UE/R: Minister admonishes youth to be responsible

The Upper East Regional Minister, Stephen Yakubu has admonished youth in the region to be responsible.

In an address read by the Regional Coordinating Director, Alhaji Alhassan Mahamudu Azonko on behalf of the minister at the International Youth Day celebration in Bolgatanga under the theme “Transforming Food System – Youth Innovation for Human and Planetary Health” the minister called on the Youth in the region to avoid all irresponsible behavior.

According to him, the youth needs to invest in knowledge of good attitude, reproductive health practices and also play an active role at the community level to prevent violence and manage conflicts for the development of the region and the country as a whole.

“I challenge the youth to eschew irresponsible sexual behavior, drug addiction and all forms of criminal acts. Instead they should invest in knowledge of good sexual and reproductive health practices and play active roles at the community level to prevent violence and manage conflicts. Young people should refrain from joining groups and individuals with malicious intent to destabilize their communities and the country” he stated.

He also urge the youth to take advantage of the government programs that seek to create jobs for the Ghanaian citizen especially the Youth such as planting for food and jobs, planting of one million trees and community integrated mining program.
