Marine Police assist travelers in crossing flooded place in Sandema

Marine Police Personnel who have been deployed to the Upper East Region embark on Reverine Operations in the wake of the Bagre and Kopienga Dams spillage have assisted travelers crossing flooded areas in the Sandema Municipality.


The unit had to intervene to salvage the situation on August 30, 2021 when they were embarking on an observation patrols in the area.


A press statement signed by the Upper East Regional Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Police Service, ASP David Fianko Okyere said “the Marine Police Unit in an observation in the area between the hours of 10.30am to 11. 50am as result of earlier down Pour met flood across the main Sandema- Chuchuliga motor road making it difficult for motorisMarine Police assist travelers in crossing flooded place in Sandemat to ply the road and therefore had to assist motorist and pedestrians in crossing to each side of the road.”

The statement further said the exercise was sustained till the volumes of water subsided and free flow of traffic was observed before the team continued the observation in other areas at about 5.45pm.
The Ghana Police Service urge the general public to continue to adhere to security advise and collaborate with security agencies to ensure safety of lives and property.
