A Bolgatanga- based Journalist and Editor-in-Chief of apexnewsgh.com,  Stephen Ngamegbulam Chidozie, has donated an undisclosed amount of money to a needy family in the Bolgatanga Municipality of the Upper East region.

The family of 2 physically challenged sisters, their widowed mother and 2 other children live in a local house at Bolga- Atulbabisi under very pathetic conditions.

Speaking to the media after the donation, Mr. Chidozie explained what motivated him to undertake such a gesture.

“This is an initiative that I started with an advice by my late father in 2017. When he was about to die, he called me and told me that I shouldn’t wait until I have enough before I render a helping hand to the less privileged. He said anytime I have a little I should try and use it to put smiles on the faces of the vulnerable in society. And it is an advice that I think has actually motivated me. So, after his burial in 2017, I started in 2018 executing the advice I derived from my late dad.”

Mr. Chidozie also used the medium to call on well-meaning individuals and organizations to come to the aid of the vulnerable family at Atulbabisi- because according to him, “a lot needs to be done to address the situation of the family.”

Mother of the physically challenged girls, Janet Nsoh Abotsi, after receiving the gesture, expressed gratitude to Mr. Chidozie for his kindness.

She explained that her two daughters were not born with the disabilities but their condition came as a result of a strange sickness they suffered whiles growing up.

According to her, the children, Paulina and Ayine were 20 and 13 years respectively when they were attacked by the strange sickness which physically disabled them till date.

The situation of the family is particularly worse now as Madam Nsoh added that her only son who was their bread winner died about 8 months ago; leaving the family in a helpless state.

She, therefore, appealed to the general public to support her family in every little way possible.
