Edmund Addo makes history as FC Sheriff beat Real Madrid

Ghana sensational midfield player, Edmund Addo, produced an outstanding performance in FC Sherriff’s champions league fairytale 2-1 win over fourteen-time winners Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid on Tuesday.

The midfield enforcer produced a solid display of football in their 2-1 win over Ukrainian giants Sharktar Donesk and he excelled once again against a mighty opponent in Real Madrid.

FC Sheriff went into the front foot through Djasur Yakshibaev on the 25th minute of the game. But that goal was cancelled out by Karim Benzema’s penalty on the 65th minute of the contest.

The minnows caused one of the greatest upsets in European football history by snatching the winning goal through Addo’s defensive midfield partner Sabastien Thill inside the dying embers of the game to put the home supporters in a state of disbelief and shock.

Edmund Addo starred in Sherriff Tiraspol’s first group D game against Shaktar Donesk where they won by two goals to nil.

The 21-year old was rated 6.7 by FOTMOB for his impressive performance in the game.

FC Sherriff is the first club in Moldova to ever make it to the group stages of the UEFA champions league.

Edmund Addo began his football career with mighty cosmos in Ghana before traveling abroad to join FK Senica.

He joined Sherriff Tiraspol in this summer’s transfer window.
