Teacher Trainees across the 46 public Colleges of Education in the country are lamenting over their 6-months unpaid allowance.

According to the aggrieved students, though, the decision by Government to restore the allowance was a commendable one, the “undue delay in the payment of the allowance has and is really causing most Teacher Trainees unease.”

In a press release signed by the General Secretary of Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana (TTAG), Abaidoo Felix, said engagements with the relevant authorities to seek the prompt payment of their allowance have proven futile.

By the statement, the association gave a 3-weeks ultimatum starting from October 5, 2021, for the Government to pay the arrears of 6-months allowance to them else they will be compelled to take appropriate actions to ensure their voices are heard.
