SG Mobile Health Care, a non-political, non-government organisation has reached more than 500 women in Vieri in the Wa West District of the Upper West Region with a breast cancer screening exercise. The exercise was also used to attend to other female-related health conditions. This forms part of the organisation’s annual Complete Woman Conference programme.

The Executive Director of SG Mobile Health Care Latif Mumuni mentioned to A1 Radio at Wa that each year, the organisation reaches women in different communities to educate them on health issues while also organising comprehensive health assessments for them. He said the group had an initial target of 200 women but the target was exceeded by more than 300 people.

“Beyond expectations, our medical volunteers from around the country attended to more than 500 beneficiaries. Beneficiaries were drawn from all social groups within the Wa West District and beyond. Participants who were largely women were provided with free breast examination and cervix assessment. Male participants on the other hand benefited from digital prostate examination and hernia assessment,” he explained.

Mr. Mumuni explained that his organisation’s aim is to provide quality healthcare support services to people resident in the Upper West Region. The Complete Woman Conference was supported by the Member of Parliament for Wa West, Mr. Peter Lanchene Toobu.
