The President’s nominee for the Wa West District, Madam Vida Diorotey has been confirmed by Assembly Members of the Wa West District. Madam Diorotey was confirmed with 30 ‘Yes’ votes out of the total 41 votes cast. 10 people voted against her confirmation while one vote was rejected. The votes in her favour represent 73.2 percent of valid votes cast.
It will be recalled that Madam Vida Diorotey was nominated by the President to serve as District Chief Executive (DCE) for the Wa West District in place of Mr. Bukari Ali, who on two different occasions, failed to receive enough votes. The directive was contained in a letter signed by the Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Mr. Dan Botwe and sighted by A1radio.
