Youth resolve to fight for more development for Sissala area

Youth in the Sissala enclave within the Upper West Region have resolved to be uncompromising in their quest for the necessary authorities to develop the area. Key among the areas that need to be developed is that roads that lead in and out of the Sissala area and also within the farming communities.
These were contained in a Communique issued by the Sissala Youth Forum at their just-ended annual Forum.
The Forum, held in Tumu in the Sissala East Municipality was to take stock of the group’s activities during the year and plan for the year ahead.
Below is the 10-point communique released by the SYF.
A 10-POINT COMMUNIQUE ISSUED BY SISSALA YOUTH FORUM AT ITS 10TH CONGRESS ON THE THEME: INDIGENOUS LANGUAGES AND DEVELOPMENT: THE ROLE OF THE YOUTH”.
At the end of the 10th Congress of the Sissala Youth Forum(SYF) held on the 26th of December 2021 on the theme: “indigenous languages and development: the role of the youth”, discussed, a lot of key issues and came out with the following resolutions:
1. Resolved to form a three-member committee to work on our initiative of instituting the Sissala Youth Forum Achievers Awards.
2. Resolved to establish the Sissali project of the year.
3. Resolved to establish a Development Oriented Research Arm(DORA-SYF) of the Sissala Youth Forum for the development and prosperity of the Sissala people, and our land.
4. Resolved to form school based-clubs for Sissala Youth Forum programs to help eliminate the apathy in members towards the Forum’s activities.
5. Resolved to play a role in promoting Sissali by speaking, learning, studying, documenting, and promoting it.
6. Resolved to push/compel government to fix Tumu-Wa-Bolga, Tumu-Wellembelle-Wahabu, Tumu-Gwollu-Hamile and Gwollu-Jeffisi-Bullu roads.
7. Resolved to approach the Sissala East Municipal Assembly to provide a temporal office for the Sissala Youth Forum to facilitate its work.
8. Resolved to recompose and restructure SEDEF.
9. Resolved to come-out with a package to support our younger brothers and sisters going to study Sissali at the University.
10. Resolved to collaborate with relevant stakeholders to improve basic education performances.
