Health practitioner, Dr. Moses Atinga has declared his interest in contesting for the seat of the Upper East Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party. Dr. Atinga took to his official Facebook age to declare his interest.

In a declaration letter, Dr. Atinga, a stalwart of the party in the Upper East Region recounted all the leadership positions he had served in within the region explaining that he was convinced that he had done a tremendous job to earn him the seat as Regional Chairman of the NPP.

He admitted that as Chairman, he would have a huge task increasing the fortunes of the party. As such, he has developed what he termed “the tripod strategy” to address all the concerns.

Below is his full statement:

DECLARATION OF INTENTION TO CONTEST THE CHAIRMANSHIP POSITION OF THE NEW PATRIOTIC PARTY IN THE UPPER EAST REGION

Fellow Patriots,

It is with great honour, I convey my deep-seated felicitations to you for holding firmly without reservations the strings of our dear party this far, your unflinching support and unwavering commitment cannot be quantified. As alluded to by our forbearers, “The life of a Preacher is a better sermon than what he says with his lips”. Having considered the aspirations of the teaming members of our party, I have received numerous calls from party structures such as party elders, executives, youth groups, women groups, individuals, and most especially the grassroots members yearning for me to serve their interest as the next Regional Chairman of our beloved NPP in the Upper East Region.

I have sought the face of the Lord for guidance and directions and soberly reflected on the disappointments, lost hope, and unmet aspirations of our people and their true search for leadership. I have, as such, chosen the path to inspire hope and rekindle the trust of our grassroots for the collective growth of our party in the Region.

I therefore, humbly seize this opportunity to officially declare my Intention to Contest the Chairmanship Position of our Great Party in the Upper East Region when nominations open.

Currently, serving as the Regional 1st Vice Chairman and with over 16 years (4 years as Constituency Treasurer, 8 years Constituency Secretary and 4 years Regional 1st Vice Chairman) of dedicated service to the party, I am confident in my convictions that the experiences gained over the years will selflessly be put to bear towards consolidating the gains we have made thus far towards the bettering of lives of our people.

In 2020, I coordinated the Patriotic Health Workers group, NPP Health Professionals in the Upper East, North East and Savannah Regions to provide free medical outreach for some constituencies thereof. This was sponsored by Dr. Nsiah Asare, the Presidential Advisor on Health. Alhaji Abdul-Wahab Aludiba Hannan, Hon. Thomas Kofi Alonsi and Mr. Malik Abaabagre were the Patrons for the Group. Dr. Nadia Adongo had similar outreaches for the Region and we collaborated effectively.

The greatest service a man can give to God is the service that he renders to his fellow human beings, and that is where my joy and passion to serve my people is drawn from. I promise nothing but the best of leadership that will inspire hope and put smiles on the faces of party members.

Once again, we have the opportunity to reposition our beloved party in the Upper East Region. In the coming weeks, we will launch the “The Tripod Strategy” which seeks to win more seats for the NPP in the Region.

Let us be partners in our quest to break the 8.

Arise NPP youth of Upper East Region to be counted, seen, and heard.

Thank you.

Yours faithfully,

……..signed….

DR. MOSES K. ATINGA (NPP REGIONAL CHAIRMAN HOPEFUL, UER)
