Bolgatanga Technical University ready to take over a Synohydro funded project

The Bolgatanga Technical University in the Upper East Region is poised to take over a multipurpose engineering laboratory, funded by Synohydro Corporation Limited through the government of Ghana.

Construction works of the project which is being implemented by the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) are completed while installation of state-of-the-art equipment to meet international standards are ongoing.

The facility when completed will facilitate the tuition of programs such as mechanical, electrical and electronics, automobile, welding and fabrication as well as civil engineering respectively.

Vice-Chancellor of the Bolgatanga Technical University, Professor Erasmus Alnaa who revealed this to the media on Saturday said the project has a training component for staff on the usage of the equipment.

“Currently, the training is ongoing at the Cape Coast Technical University. It is a residential training and it is so supposed to be 13 weeks and some of our staff are there.”

The government of Ghana had entered an agreement with the Chinese firm to retool some key Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions of which Bolgatanga Technical University is a beneficiary.
