The quality of healthcare in the Fumbisi area in the Builsa South District of the Upper East Region remains a challenge.

Inadequate bed capacity for patients as well as the lack or inadequacy of medical essentials have always been some of the main challenges health professionals are confronted with in their day to day activities.

In lieu of this, the Member of Parliament for the area, Dr Clement Apaak has built and handed over a 32 -bed capacity for the children’s ward in the Fumbisi Health Centre to improve quality healthcare delivery.

Dr Apaak who handed over the structure indicated that good health is key, thus, will never relent in his efforts to support the centre with basic health needs when necessary.

“….good health leads to the proper growth of children and makes them develop with the sound mind whereupon they aspire to higher heights”, he added.

The health officials of the Fumbisi Health Center were grateful for the intervention.

They said the new structure has come at the right time as it will go a long way to alleviate the sufferings of mothers who have to be admitted to the centre.

“It offers we the staff the opportunity to properly take care of the patients on admission by administering to them the required drugs at the appropriate time. It is also gratifying to note that the children’s ward will also go a long way to cater for the needs and services of our neighbouring communities like Yagba, Kuboari”, the officials noted.
