“On Tuesday, 08th March 2022, the Upper West Regional Command of the Ghana Police Service surrendered Thirty Three (33) suspected irregular migrants to the Regional Command of the Ghana Immigration Service. The migrants comprised of Twenty-One (21) males and Twelve (12) females. Their ages ranged between 18 and 29. They were all Burkinabes.

Our preliminary investigation revealed that they had entered Ghana through unapproved routes. It was further revealed that their modus operandi was ‘QNet’ operation.

The necessary protocols were activated and they were removed from Ghana through the Hamile Border Post. It’s worth mentioning that considering our uncompromising resolve to end or drastically minimise irregular migration to and from Ghana, there can be no space for irregular migrants therein. Additionally, we remind their unrepentant Ghanaian collaborators to revise their notes or be subjected to the horrendous side of the law when caught. Under the land borders locked down, coupled with our resolve to combat undocumented migration we’re leaving no stone unturned in the fight.
