The Northern Innovation Lab in partnership with Ghana Tech Lab has organized the Walewale Investor meetup and pitch event under the National Acceleration Programme.

The event which took place on Friday, March 11, 2022 at the Northern Innovation Lab in Walewale in the North East region of Ghana sought to connect young entrepreneurs with investors and business support systems within the North East Region.

The event focused on”bridging the gap; making startups ready for investors”.

According to the Director in Charge of Projects and Programmes at Northern Innovation Lab, Alfred John Opoku, “the purpose of the Investor Meetup & Pitch Event was to break the barrier that prevents startups from reaching out to investors or getting the chance to convince investors to invest in their business ideas”.

“The Walewale Investor Meetup and Pitch event created an avenue for startups to engage and pitch their business ideas to members of the Walewale Investor Network. This primarily helped startups build their pitching competence and solicit potential partners and other funding opportunities to grow their business”.

“This was a great opportunity to equip and groom entrepreneurs [startup founders] with business advice, seed funding and networking with potential investors, partners, and relevant individuals or groups necessary for their business growth,” he added.

Six startups were given the opportunity to pitch their business ideas to investors. The startups are Maiga Enterprise, Saif Farms, Chanti Enterprise, 360 Garage Bar and Grill as well Salam Beauty Collection.
