The Navrongo Senior High School in the Kassena-Nankana Municipality of the Upper East region has received three (3) polytanks from the 2002 year group of the school. The tanks are to help deal with water shortages in the School.
The membership of the 2002 year group of the Navrongo Senior high school was formed after their completion. It was to foster unity among the past students and to also help develop the school as old students.
Speaking to the media immediately after handing over the three (3) poly tanks to the management of the school, Lucas Yelabeyani Yirezeme, a patron of the group said, among other needs of the school they found it necessary to donate the poly tanks to the school in order to help resolve the water storage challenges in the school.
According to Mr. Yelabeyani, the gesture is also to express their happiness and kind support as the school celebrates its 60th anniversary this year.
“We are here this morning to donate poly tanks to our alma mater, Navrongo Senior high school. This is the 2002 year group, after completion we saw the need that we should come together and form a year group so that we can foster unity and the general well being of ourselves”.
“When we were approaching our 60th anniversary, we decided that there was a need for us to give back to our alma mater, so we came up with this polytank project and we contributed among ourselves and procured these polytanks for the school,” he said
Receiving the gesture on behalf of management and Students of the Navrongo Senior High school, the Assistant Headmaster for Academics, Vincent Atarem expressed gratitude to the 2002 year group for the gesture.

Mr. Atarem said the three (3) donated poly tanks will go a long way to help the entire school. He appealed for other formers students to emulate the benevolent act of the 2002 year group and go to the aid of the school.
