Kasomo Shea has emerged winner of a Local Pitch for Startups held in Bolgatanga, the Upper East Regional capital. The Pitch for Startups was organised by the Dansyn Innovation Social Organization (ISO), a not-for-profit technology-driven youth-oriented organisation in the Upper East Region together with the Ghana Tech Lab.

The Local Pitch for Startups was organised after six months of coaching, mentorship and business advisory support by Dansyn ISO in partnership with Ghana Tech Lab under the National Acceleration Programme. It was to present a fair opportunity for the startups to compete for a slot at the Ghana Startup Summit.

Kasomo Shea’s win at the Local Pitch for Startups means that it will represent the Upper East Region at the Ghana Startup Summit.

The Ghana Startup Summit will feature all startups from the Acceleration Programme pitching to a three-member judging panel, an audience of investors, ecosystem stakeholders, industry experts and business professionals.

The Ghana Startup Summit which began on April 4, 2022, is expected to end on April 10, 2022. It is being held in Accra; the national capital.

The Manager of Dansyn ISO, Samuel Abeene congratulated the startups for the effort they put in throughout the programme and for remaining dedicated to their business ideas. He added that out of the nine(9) startups which began, six(6) were able to complete the programme despite the hustle of submitting deliverables every week.

Mr. Abeene wished all participating startups well and urged them to be resolute in their attempt to build sustainable businesses that will impact the local economies they find themselves in.

He reminded the startups to continue to position themselves in a way that allows them to take advantage of funding opportunities that may come their way.

Kasomo Shea is a startup that produces shea butter and provides an extended marketing platform for the individuals who work with it.
