The former Upper East Regional Minister and 2020 Parliamentary Candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Navrongo Constituency, Paulina Tangoba Abayage has remained quite coy about her future aspirations in the NPP.

Madam Tangoba Abayage, speaking on A1 Radio’s Day Break Upper East Show, restated her commitment, loyalty and resolve toward furthering the course of the NPP in the Navrongo Central Constituency and the Upper East Region but was unclear about her exact plans for the future; particularly with regard to leading the NPP into the parliamentary election in 2024.

When asked about her future, she said “what is it about me? I am a party member; strong, solid. There is no two ways about that. I will continue to be a member of the New Patriotic Party as long as I live. We just finished with our constituency elections, we are going to go to the regional elections and then the national elections, we will be electing a flagbearer. There is a long way [to go] and trust me, I am going to be part of all these till 2024.”

“Myself, I am busy with other stuff. I have built a school and I am going to open it; so for now, that is it. You don’t know what will happen tomorrow. I can’t be in 2022 and be telling you about 2024. What if I do not live till that day. So for me, I do not know. Who knows, maybe I will be a running mate for one of the presidential candidates,” she said.

Madam Abayage insisted that “for now I am busy doing other things and assisting the party strongly. I am going to continue doing that”.

The former Upper East Regional Minister’s school, ‘Tangoba Legends School’ is expected to be opened to the public in the coming days.

According to Madam Abayage, it is a fully equipped educational institution that is expected to be able to provide quality care for babies and toddlers whose parents have extremely busy schedules.

In the coming months, the school is expected to expand and cover primary and Junior High School levels as well.
