4 ‘Agenda 111’ hospitals under construction in Upper East Region

The government’s Agenda 111 initiative is currently underway in four districts in the Upper East Region.

The areas are; Binduri District, Bawku West District, Bolga East District, and Talensi Districts. The Upper East Regional Minister Stephen Yakubu announced this when he inspected the progress of work at a health facility under government’s agenda 111 hospitals in the Binduri District.

Mr. Yakubu said, the NPP government’s seriousness in health care delivery is unprecedented; the reason the Upper East region is benefiting from about four hospitals under the initiative. with others yet to begin.

According to the Regional Minister, these hospitals after their completion would play a major role in health care delivery in the region. Hence, the need for the people of the Upper East Region to applaud the government for its effort.

“The media you have seen it all, the agenda 111 that they are saying that is not true, it is what we are building. You are right here; you have seen and it is live,” he said.

“We are in Binduri. We are not in space; we are not anywhere. This is the only [parliamentary] seat that we have as NPP, so we have this hospital here. So far, I have visited about four of these agenda 111 [hospitals in the region] and those who go around with me have seen it.”

“Our government, the Nana Addo government is very serious about health care. This has never happened in the history of this country; where we are building 111 hospitals and we are even adding more,” he said.

Top International Company Limited, the company in-charge of the construction of the Binduri ‘Agenda 111’ Hospital indicated that the project will be completed within 18 months.

The Quality Control Engineer of the project, Kwasi Obuobi Jnr mentioned that after the completion of the hospital the following facilities will be included; O.P.D, Lab and diagnosis, accidents and emergency unit, public health unit, male and female wards and maternity wards.
