The newly elected Upper East Regional Youth Organizer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Salahu-Deen Musah Al-Khomeini has stated without equivocation that his victory in the just-ended NPP regional executive election marks the extinction of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Upper East Region.

He made the statement in reference to comments by the Deputy Upper East Regional Communication Officer of the NDC, Casper Sunday Kampoli that he was happy about the outcome of the NPP’s regional executive election.

Casper Sunday Kampoli said the new crop of executives does not have anything new in terms of strategy to help the party since most of them led the party into a massive defeat in the 2020 elections in the region.

The NPP lost three seats to the NDC and managed only one out of the fifteen seats in the region.

But, the NPP Upper East Regional Youth Organizer speaking on A1 Radio’s Day Break Upper East Show today, June 1, 2022, said he was not part of the regional executive even though he campaigned across the region.

“I have said on other platforms that my victory as Regional Youth Organizer marked the extinction of the NDC in the Upper East Region. We are going to begin, and I’m going to set the ball rolling. I have met my Youth Organizers and we are starting work next month. We are not going to wait until the election. I am telling the NDC that they should expect fire. This is not a Youth Organizer who is going to sit in Accra or Bolga. This is a Youth Organizer who is going to be in the trenches,” he said.

He called for support from party members in order to harness the gains of the party in the region.
