Sampson Tangombu, Member of Parliament for the Navrongo Central constituency has joined calls for the reshuffling of some ministers under President Akufo-Addo’s government.

According to the MP, the downwards growth of the economy was a result of some of the old ministers who for lack of expertise, failed to put the country on the path of growth.

It could be recalled that the Member of Parliament for Talensi constituency, BT Baba and other MPs on the minority group recently questioned why President Akufo-Addo has failed to reshuffle some of his ministers for close to six years.

Given that, the MP noted that the likes of the Finance Minister, Roads and Highway Minister, Agric Minister, Local Government Minister and others need to be reshuffled as they have failed to deliver in their mandate.

Speaking on A1 Radio’s Daybreak Upper East Show, the MP explained further that the calls for their reshuffling were based on their lack of expertise to deliver to the state as well as them being old and exhausted to work.

“To be sincere with you, it is sort of worrying, your people are not performing instead of you to get those who are young to work, he’s sitting down there. Most of his ministers are old and look exhausted. The reason he’s not reshuffling them, we can’t best tell. Meanwhile, we were told that they have the men but why will he allows someone to be there for almost six years without good output to show. Look at the agric minister, health minister and finance minister; look at the scandals they are causing left, right and centre yet he’s not saying anything. Why?”

Adding that “President Akufo-Addo knows what he’s gaining from them if not why will he still allow those ministers there when young men with vibrant expertise are there and can deliver for the growth of the country.”

He however assured Ghanaian youth of a better future in the hands of the National Democratic Congress come 2024.
