NPP Elections: Vote for a competent candidate; not a “big-man’s” boy – National Youth Aspirant

A National Youth Organiser Aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Prince Kamal Gumah has charged delegates to vote based on competency and the said individual’s willingness to serve the party.

According to him, the Party, at this crucial moment, needs people who have the zeal and willingness to serve and not because of which camp they belong to in the party.

He said, “let’s look beyond favouritism. Let’s look beyond the darling boys and focus on who can perform when given the opportunity. Let your vote be based on what he has done and not what he says he will do. Don’t let what I will do persuade your vote. Let our records be the basis of your vote.”

The Aspirant who was on a tour to the Upper East Region indicated that one of the reasons that pushed him to contest for the position was the consistent neglect of Constituency and Regional Youth Organisers across the country for years.

“Youth in this party for years have not seen the needed empowerment at their various constituencies. How can you call someone a youth organiser of a party when he can’t even provide for his family for a day. Sometimes baffles me when I see a constituency youth organizer who is without a decent job. A youth organizer who, when his wife or child is having malaria can’t even afford the hospital bill. These are but a few of the problems that I’m coming to change. This can’t continue, we need youth organisers who when the party is having activities they will call and say we can handle it at the constituency levels,” he added.

Before joining the National Youth Organiser’s race, Kamal Gumah was the Deputy Youth Organizer for the USA [New Jersey] Chapter of the NPP.

With such experiences and successes chalked, Mr. Gumah believed when given the opportunity to lead at the national level, the fortunes of the youth who are aligned and sympathetic to the course of the NPP things could change for the better.

He, therefore, called on delegates to let their votes be the magic that will help the party break the eight come 2024 elections.
