A member of the governing New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Upper East Regional Communication Team, Osman Akariyamah has intimated that parliamentarians are dragging their feet on the Adwoa Safo’s dilemma.

He said parliament acts very quickly anytime a non-member of parliament is been dragged to the committee of privileges but that cannot be said about the Adwoa Safo’s conundrum.

“How many people have they not dragged to the privileges committee who are not parliamentarians? Look at the swiftness. Now when it has to do with their own members, you can see that they keep on postponing.”

Speaking on A1 Radio’s Day Break Upper East Show, Osman Akariyamah said parliament is being slow on the process. He observed that parliamentarians always stand for one another be it NPP or NDC.

“Some of us are even beginning to see that parliamentarians always stand for one another be it NPP or NDC, they see themselves as a family. You can see that all that is happening they are dragging their feet.”

He said parliamentarians are not being fair to Ghanaians with the way they are handling the issue. Mr Akariyamah said parliament is being slow with the process.

“He stated that except those who are related to the MP, members of the NPP and the MP’s constituents are at a lost as to what is happening. And sometimes am even tempted to believe that they themselves don’t even know what is happening if not the hate that is going on they would have come out to defend what is happening,” he added.
