Nestle Ghana Holds Its First Ever Cooking Competition in the Upper East Region

Nestle Ghana limited, a leading brand in food processing on Saturday organized its first ever cooking competition in the Upper East Regional capital, Bolgatanga.

The competition brought women from all walks of life to compete for the crown as the best cook in the region and subsequently represent the region at the national level.

The competition was between various corporate institutions, individual entities and some associations including Hair dressers association, tailors and seamstress association, Zoomlion, A1 radio.

After an hour and a half cooking, and inspection by able judges of the competition, the hair dressers association in the Upper East region was adjudged the best with A1 radio and Lilian Fofie and Alima been second and third runner ups respectively.

Speaking to a1radioonline.com after the competition, manager for Nestle Ghana in the Upper East Region, John Derry said he was impressed with the enthusiasm the competition was greeted with.

He acknowledged that although the competition had a late start, the patronage was the best. He maintained that Nestle Ghana will continue to make mothers stars by organizing such events every quarter to help mothers learn new trends in cooking and also to award their customers.

CEO of Stephline catering services, Mrs Cecilia Philinga Asigri who was also a judge on the day was of the view that, the competition was imperative because it brings people together to enhance networking and also help train mothers in new trends of cooking.

She underscored the need for such competitions because it will help make the youth learn more of the practical work rather than the theory they have always been open to in their various institutions of study.

Maggi Brand under Nestle Ghana is embarking on a regional cooking tour to select best cooks in each of the ten regions after which the selected individuals will be made to represent their regions at a national competition.
