The Upper East Regional Minister, Stephen Yakubu has singled out the Free Senior High School (SHS) programme being implemented by the governing New Patriotic Party as one singular achievement that the North will never forget.
“One particular thing that no one should forget in this region is the free education. Earlier on I told you how difficult it was for me when I was growing up to educate myself and all that. And am sitting here today because I’ve been able to educate myself or my parents have contributed to my education. Without education probably is very difficult to sometimes move.”
“So a government that’ll give you that is a particular same government that has given you life.”
“Because if someone gives you an education, basically he has given you a concrete start of life,” the minister added.
