The paramount chief of Nangodi traditional area Naaba Yelzoya Joseph Asaga II, has warned against the act of killing deformed children often tagged as evil children.
The Chief made the pronouncement at the commissioning of a Resource Centre for persons with disability in Kongo.
According to him, no one is born evil and believes is about time such inhumane acts are fought against.
He lamented that a lot of young people are suffering all forms of abuse because they were born with deformity which unfortunately is believed to be a form of curse or bad omen in the family.
Naaba Yelzoya Joseph Asaga II, also told his people to eschew stigmatization and maltreatment of people living with disability.
He entreated the people of his traditional area to report anyone engaged in such devilish activity to him or other appropriate authorities for prosecution. He further encouraged the Kongo Union of Disabled Society (KUDS), to continue with their good contribution towards community development.
