Following the demonstration on 18 August 2022 in Accra, members of the Nabco Trainees Association of Ghana have given the President, NanaAkufo-Addo, and relevant stakeholders a week’s ultimatum to respond to their grievance.

They said if the president fails to respond, before 26th August 2022, they will picket at the Jubilee House to show their frustrations.

Dennis Opoku Aseidu, President of the Association poured out the frustration of the trainees in a statement copied to this website.

THE GOVERNMENT IS GIVEN A ONE-WEEK WINDOW TO ADDRESS THE PRESSING ISSUES

We hereby bring to the notice of the government that, following the picketing held on the 18th of August 2022, we are giving stakeholders a one-week window to respond relievedly to our petition.

In effect, if by the close of this week, 26th of August, we have not gotten any response, there shall be phase 2 of the picketing, for which the destination point will be the Jubilee House, our initial target point for the phase 1 but had to be changed due to security concerns raised by the police.

We are counting on the assuring words from the Deputy Chief of Staff, Mr. Emmanuel Adumua-Bossman, which were given on behalf of the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, H. E. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, to get a positive response by the close of this week.

The time window is deemed adequate on the following grounds:

1. Several calls were placed to the government anterior the picketing but the pressing issues linger on.

2. The Finance Minister stated that our tenure, which was extended by an additional year, will come to an end in 1st September, 2022, for which we are only nine (9) days away.

It is our earnest expectation that the government responds to our petition by the 26th of August, 2022. If that fails to materialize, there will be another picketing around Jubilee House on the same date.

Dennis Opoku Asiedu (Katakyie)
National President.
