The DCE for the Kassena-Nankana West District, Gerard Ataogye has said his current interest is to develop the area and not to contest the Chiana-Paga MP seat on behalf of the NPP.
As such, he is not making any current preparation to contest in the upcoming party primaries.
Mr. Ataogye, speaking about his future in politics on the Day Break Upper East Show insisted that “for now,” he has no interest in the seat “because I am not the only son of the District.”
The DCE continued to say that “I am a DCE for now. You can imagine, if I have that mentality, the District is likely to suffer for it in a way. We have so many capable sons of the District who can offer themselves.”
Mr. Ataogye, coy about the potential of contesting said, “except we do not have somebody but we have countless people there.”
