The Ministry of the Interior, acting on the advice of the upper East Regional Security Council has reviewed the curfew time imposed on the area following the protracted conflicts in the Bawku Municipality and its environs.

The time has been reviewed from 8:00pm – 6:00am to 6:00pm – 6:00am. This was contained in a press release signed by the Minister, Mr. Ambrose Dery.

The presser captured that the reason for the review “has been as a result of threat to security of the communities concerned.”

The statement also stated a total ban on the carrying of arms, ammunition or any offensive weapon. It also called on the chiefs and opinion leaders to exercise restraint in the face of the challenges.
