BONABOTO Doctors Offer Free Medical Services

Some medical experts of the Association of Bolgatanga, Nangodi, Bongo and Tongo thus BONABOTO, have started a free medical screening and consultancy services to residents of the Upper East Region.

The biannual program dubbed APRIDEC, which is led by a former Dean of the School of Medical Sciences, KNUST seeks to provide free medical services to residents of the Upper East region as part of their social responsibility to people in the BONABOTO area.

The team is made of medical doctors and other health professionals who are specialized in various areas including paediatric, gynaecological, public health amongst others.

Spanning for a period of five years, the program is expected to run from 13th December to 19th December when the program will be climaxed with a press conference to educate the public on the program.

Speaking to A1 Radio news, Public Relations Officer of BONABOTO, Stanley Abopam said the medical screening program has over the years lived to its hype and is expected that the number of persons to be attended to will increase considering how people have patronized it over the years.

He added that although the health screening was free, it is expected that all individuals who will come should have the National Health Insurance card.

He indicated that residents of the Upper East Regional capital, Bolgatanga who have special cases should visit the Amiah Hospital for laboratory checks and book for consultation before the program begins on the 13th of this month.

Other residents in the Upper East Region according to him should visit the Tongo Health center, Bawku and the Navrongo hospitals for their laboratory checks.
