Newly elected National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) Talensi Constituency Secretary, Augustine Guuri has attributed his victory in the party’s constituency elections, that was held over the weekend, to his powerful campaign message which he says, resonated well with delegates in the constituency.

Speaking on A1Radio today October 24, 2022, Augustine Guuri mentioned that “it has been the concern of the party, is the reason why people were no more attracted to the party. They felt like they’ve been in the party, they’ve been doing all the dirty work for the party but they don’t see changes. All the time the numbers reduce. And the message was clear; sometimes after delivering the message the people will tell you that it looks as if you were in their minds and they have no question to ask you.”

He said, “all they’re saying is that they’ll give you the nod to go and come. But I think that my message was key because I was a lone ranger, I wasn’t moving with a group. I was alone, campaigning alone. People said it’s never going to work; it has never worked moving alone. I said there’s always a new beginning to everything. I’m starting it alone, that’s why I think I can do it alone. And then with the delegates and support of everybody we made it together.”

The Talensi Constituency held its elections on Sunday due to late printing of ballot papers among other anomalies. The party had chosen Saturday for the elections in about 190 constituencies across the country.
