The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Communication Officer for Binduri Constituency, Jambeidu Mbawin Sadat has stated that President Akufo-Addo’s address on the economy to the nation was nothing but rhetoric.
Speaking on A1Radio, the NDC Communication Officer said the president only gave a hint on what the 2023 budget will be.
“In fact yesterday I had my own expectations. I was thinking that the President would have come to tell us that maybe the key that they lock the cedi was found and then rearrested and locked again but it was rather unfortunate it was the rhetoric. What I was expecting I never saw in the long speech of the president. The president is just behaving like a road runner for the finance minister”.
According to him the president was only giving the hint of a budget. He was expecting the president to apologize to Ghanaians over the current economic hardship in the country.
“If budget was solving problems I believe by now we wouldn’t have been where we are. They are certain hard truth that this current government, they do not want to accept. The hard truth is that he should have come to render an apology to Ghanaians that he is sorry for this economy hardship he has rendered to us”.
He noted that the current government is adamant in consulting particularly former Presidents, John Agyekum Kufour and John Dramani Mahama on the current economic situation in the country.
