National Democratic Congress (NDC) Upper East Regional Secretary aspirant Thomas Abiola, has expressed optimism that the party will snatch the Binduri Constituency seat from the NPP in the 2024 general elections.

The NDC won 14 out of the 15 constituencies in the Upper East Region in the 2020 parliamentary and presidential elections.

But the one time NDC Deputy Upper East Regional Secretary believes that the party will take back the seat from the NPP and increase the NDC’s votes in the region to 80 percent.

Speaking on A1 Radio, Mr Abiola says it is possible for the NDC to win all the parliamentary seats in the region considering the current economic hardships in the country.

“Operation 15-80 is possible. The NPP can only dream. The Ghana where we are today where people drive and they don’t concentrate on the road and they concentrate on reading on their fuel gauge to just see what is happening. People sleep and wake up 2am and shout eiiii is that the Ghana we’re in and a whole lot of hardships that people are going through. People cannot get three square meal a day to eat. And you know typically they say they’re holding Binduri; is a borrowed seat. They are just holding it for a temporarily, we are coming back by the grace of God united force and we going to take that seat. I don’t know any seat they will take”.

He added that the NPP “has fooled us, scammed us as a country; told us that when they come they are going to give one-village one-dam; we have not seen the dams.”
