Donatus Akamugri Atanga remains the Upper East Regional Secretary for the NDC after defeating Thomas Abiola, his only contender.
He polled 300 votes whiles his only contender, Thomas Abiola polled 186 votes.
Mr. Akamugri Atanga is said to be the longest serving Regional Secretary for any political party in the country.
Meanwhile, Abdallah Jonathan Salifu fended off competition from Sunday Casper Kampoli and Tijani Ahmed to win the Communication Officer position for the NDC in the Upper East Region.
He polled 264 votes. Sunday Casper Kampoli polled 198 while the incumbent, Mr. Tijani polled 26 votes.
Fawzia Yakubu has been elected as Upper East Regional Women Organiser. She beat her only contender, the incumbent organiser, Rahinatu Haruna. Madam Yakubu polled 28 votes against 17 votes for Madam Yakubu.
