SDD-UBIDS to establish study centre in Upper East Region

The Faculty of Planning and Land Management of the Simon Diedong Dombo University of Business and Integrated Development Studies, Wa (SDD-UBIDS), as part of measures to bridge the educational accessibility gap, intends to establish a study centre in the Upper East Region. 

This made known during a media engagement with the Prof. Kennedy A. Alatinga, Dean of the School of Planning and Land Management of the university. 

The Bolgatanga Study Centre of the University will offer Master of Science Programs(MSc.) during the weekends. The centre will offer advanced studies in MSc. in Strategic Planning and Management, MSc. in Monitoring and Evaluation and MSc in Project Management and Community Development

Prof. Kennedy A. Alatinga further indicated that the faculty is recognized nationally as a leader in planning research and education, real estates and land management, and community development. Adding that the faculty uses a practically-oriented and integrated approach to problem-solving in their lectures giving their graduates an advantage in any given working environment. 

The faculty had six academic departments namely—the Department of Community Development, Department of Planning, Department of Real Estates, Department of Land Management, Department of Construction Studies and the Department of Urban Design and Infrastructure Studies. 

The faculty run Diploma Programs, Degree Programs, Master of Science Programs, Master of Philosophy Programs,as well as PhD Programs. 

Touching on the unique proposition of the faculty over others, Mr. Felix Dordaa noted that aside using practically oriented approaches during their lectures, they offer a warm, supportive and inclusive environment for academic excellence.
