The District Chief Executive for Talensi, Thomas Duanab Wuni Pearson, has made clear his intention to lead the NPP and snatch the Parliamentary seat from the incumbent NDC MP, Benson Tongo Baba.

Speaking in a recent interview with A1 Radio’s Gerard Asagi and Mark Smith, Mr. Wuni Pearson explained that once his party has not asked him to step aside, he would continue to put his name for consideration, and do what it takes to win the seat for the NPP.

“Have you ever seen anyone go to contest a kingship position, didn’t win and doesn’t go to contest again? I will keep contesting till my party says, no, you rest and [say] that you are tired. Or I tell them that I am tired. I still have some strength left [to contest],” he said.

Meanwhile, the Talensi DCE called for calm within the rank and file of the NDC, reminding them that the party has not won the 2024 election yet.

“As for my friends on the other side, they are just rushing. They want to form a government when we haven’t even voted. They should take their time. They are already sharing positions.”

“My brother Adongo, [MP for Bolgatanga Central], if he wants to become Finance Minister, he should wait. His day would come. He would get his day in court. He shouldn’t be rushing. You win an election before you form a government. Let’s see whether they will win,” he said.
