Vida Dongo, a native of the Upper East Region’s Nabdam District, has taken the initiative to provide clothing and food to vulnerable women and children at the Bolgatanga lorry station.

The initiative, according to her, was to help vulnerable people realise that there are many in society who still care about their welfare.

Speaking to the media, Miss Dongo noted that growing up she always dreamed of nourishing the needy with the little resources available.

“I took it upon myself to support the needy and vulnerable in society.  I have been doing this for quite some time and I believe we don’t have to get everything on earth before one can put a smile on someone’s face.”

“These women, some of them who have been given names and chased out of their homes, need our support. Yes, we can’t meet all their needs but providing clothes and food is a step toward greatness,” she stressed.

She therefore called on well-meaning Ghanaians living in the Upper East Region who have used clothes that they no longer need to donate to her outlet, the Vida Dongo Foundation, for onward delivery to persons in need.
