A unity walk for New Patriotic Party (NPP) members in the Bolgatanga East Constituency in the region is being organised by the Bolgatanga East Branch of the party. The walk, which is slated for February 25, 2023, will aid the party in preserving and fortifying its ties of brotherhood, friendliness, and unity before the party’s parliamentary primaries.

Additionally, the walk would provide a platform for the leadership of the party to speak and encourage party members to avail themselves for the task ahead of the party.

Ayimbilla Abubakar Atera, the Communication Officer for the NPP in the Bolgatanga East Constituency made these comments when he spoke on A1 Radio’s Day Break Upper East Show.

“During the previous elections, there might have been certain words that may have been used against one another that may not have gone down with us. You who won, you may be okay with it but your opponent, how do you bring him or her on board. There are a series of discussions that we have held aside this radio discussion. We are trying hard to bring everybody on board. The elephant is bigger than any of us. We should be seeing the elephant first and not individual interests. That is why, we think, it is important for us to organise this healthwalk so that we bring all and sundry on board; past executives, present executives, and people who have worked in many diverse ways to bring this party far. This healthwalk is very important as far as this healthwalk is concerned in the Upper East Region,” he said.

Desmond Agana, the NPP’s Bolgatanga East Youth Organiser appealed to the youth groups to show up in their numbers and support the party’s exercise. He reminded the youth of the party’s commitment to bettering the lives of young people in the area and in the country as a whole.

Earlier, the Member of Parliament for the Bolgatanga East Constituency in the Upper East Region, Dr. Dominic Ayine was put on notice that he would be sent packing in the next election. His dreams of representing the people of the area in Parliament for a fourth consecutive term would be snuffed out promptly.

According to the members of the New patriotic Party in the area, Dr. Ayine has run out of favour with the people of the area and would be booted out in the 2024 parliamentary election.

“Bolga East, we are poised to win. We are very confident. We can’t put all the details here but we are poised to win. We are not just going to contest the elections. We have put certain measures and mechanisms in place. We think that if we work well, things would turn out in our favour.”
