The Chief Executive Officer of Kalamed Pharmacy in the Pusiga District of the Upper East Region, Musah Kalamulai, has declared his intentions to contest the National Democratic Congress’ parliamentary primaries in the Pusiga constituency in the Upper East Region.

The idea, he said, was based on the continued sacrifices made for the party as well as the constituents in several capacities.

“My quest to serve and represent the hopes and aspirations of my constituents has become absolutely necessary. I have served and sacrificed for both the party, and constituents in several capacities. I have been an ardent member of the NDC since I became a registered voter,”  he indicated.

The Pusiga constituency was among the 23 constituencies where nominations have been put on hold, according to a statement issued by the party’s General Secretary, Fifi Kwetey.

In spite of that,  the Physician, by profession, has the conviction that he has the strategies and the development skills to lead the party as a parliamentary candidate in the general elections come 2024 when nominations are open.

“As CEO of Kalamed Pharmacy, I have empowered and employed several people across the northern regions in my pharmacies which is in line with my vision to empower and mentor the youth. Instituting the KALAMED College of Health Sciences to train and mentor young people as Medicine Counter Assistants has not only served as a source of employment for the teeming graduates, but it has also offered health facilities the right human resource to save lives through quality healthcare delivery.”

“I humbly accept the call to serve my nation and my people. I shall lead the positive change that my constituents so desire. Ours is to lead the path to accelerate development, and to restore dignity and unity in our party in the constituency”, he added.

He therefore called for unity pending the opening of nominations in the constituency.

“This contest for us is a contest of great ideas devoid of personality attacks and vindictiveness. We shall tirelessly work to change the narrative and to represent the change that will unite and rejuvenate the dwindling fortunes of the party, especially in the Parliamentary elections in the constituency.”

“Comrades, the time for change is now. The future of our party in Pusiga lies in the decision we make on the 13th of May, 2023 when we go to the polls to elect a parliamentary candidate. A vote for Musah Kalamulai is a vote to secure the Pusiga seat in 2024. Let’s not gamble for selfish parochial interest. No single individual is bigger than the party. Let’s do this for the love of NDC. “

“I have the greatest conviction and hope that God/Allah will crown our efforts with victory for He has prepared us at this time for this purpose. Nothing short of victory. It’s for the masses and we shall not renege. If not now when?”
