“It is all about service to mankind. Serving the good people of Talensi, nothing more, nothing less.”

Solomon TTB Zinekena, the immediate past Constituency Secretary for the NDC in the Talensi said this when he spoke to A1 Radio’s Mark Smith on the Day Break Upper East Show about his interest in leading the NDC to the 2024 parliamentary election.

Mr. Zinekena explained that as a party fellow, he had dedicated all he had to the growth and development of the NDC in the area and hoped to do even more for the party and the people of the area, should he be elected as Parliamentary Candidate and subsequently, MP for the area, thus, succeeding the current MP, BT Baba.

The PC hopeful explained that among the nine who had picked nomination forms, he stands out.

“You know very well that if you take the scorecard of all of us, the nine who picked the nomination forms, I stand tall. If you take my scorecard and you look at sacrifice, it is an A. If you look at commitment to service of the party in Talensi, absolute A. If you look at loyalty to the good people of Talensi and the NDC, incredible A. If you look at reliability, I have been reliable. That is an A. Accessibility, I have been accessible on the ground. There is no critical issue concerning Talensi to which I wouldn’t add my voice. Not because of anything, but because I think that is the little contribution I can make to turn things around for my good people. I cannot run away from honesty and trustworthiness. That is my scorecard,” he said.

Mr. Zinekena recalled his time as Constituency Secretary and explained that he had done enough in the role to deserve the opportunity to serve in an even bigger role.

A total of nine people picked forms with the intention of contesting the upcoming primaries for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Talensi constituency of the Upper East Region.

They are Atiah Martin Aduko, Rockson Aditiba, Dickson Kurug Kpelim-Etime, Mahama Dung Daniel, Daraan Nathaniel and Kugre Nicholas Takuze. The rest are Zinekena Solomon, Awunnore Edward and Peter Badimak Yaro.

The current MP, Benson Tongo Baba, decided to discontinue his interest in the position recently. It is not known, how many people filed their nominations successfully.

Meanwhile, Augustine Guure, the Constituency Secretary for the National Democratic Congress in the Talensi constituency of the Upper East Region, called on party faithful to choose an individual who has a genuine interest in developing the human resource of Talensi while pursuing rapid physical infrastructural development.
